Tomato Cage Pergola

From Fine Gardening magazine, Nov.-Dec. 2004)

Materials: Round cone-shaped tomato cage, 1/2 inch diameter copper tubing 2 inches long, hack saw to cut copper tubing, pliers, wire cutters, scrap piece of pipe

1. Turning the cage upside down, gather the legs together and slide the piece of copper tubing over all three legs. Leave 6 inches of leg sticking out.

2. Using pliers, bend the leg around a piece of pipe to shape it into a curl, flaring the leg outward from the tube.

3. If desired, cut the bottom ring off of the cage so you can stick the legs into the soil. Paint it if desired.

**This size fits nicely into a large container, and is perfect for growing sweet peas or any smaller vining plant.**
